LOCATION: Statewide-Applications are being accepted for the purpose of maintaining registers of eligibles who would be available for employment as vacancies occur with Merit System agencies. These classifications may be used by agencies in various locations throughout the State. When vacancies occur, the names of eligibles available for employment in the county where the vacancy is located will be certified in grade order for employment consideration.

DEFINITION: This is administrative and managerial work in planning, directing, analyzing and coordinating programs and services for the Missouri Department of Natural Resources. Responsibilities may include one or more of the following areas: park or historic site operations, natural/cultural resource management, environmental education or marketing and business management.
(This classification is part of the broad-banded management service. The Division of Personnel may assign positions on any of the three bands or managerial levels based on duties and/or responsibilities.)
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS: The specific qualifications for a position allocated to this class may vary due to the spectrum of jobs included in this broad classification band. Depending on the duties of the specific job assignment, a position may require specialized and/or additional education, experience and/or licensure/certification not included in the stated requirements.
A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 15 earned credit hours in one or a combination of the following: Parks and Recreation, Natural Sciences, History, Art or Music History, Anthropology, Archaeology, Museum Studies, Park Management, Wildlife Management, Forestry, Fisheries, Biology, Botany, Engineering, Public Relations, Marketing, Education, Business or Public Administration, or a closely related field; and,
Four or more years of experience in parks and recreation, park or historic site operation/maintenance, cultural resource preservation, natural resource management, natural resource promotion/education, marketing, business management, environmental education, engineering or a closely related field.
(Additional qualifying experience may substitute on a year-for-year basis for deficiencies in the required education.)
(Earned graduate credit hours from an accredited college or university in the specified areas may substitute on a year-for-year basis for a maximum of two years of the required experience at a rate of 24 earned graduate credit hours for one year of experience.)
SELECTIVE CERTIFICATION: Eligibles whose names are listed on the Natural Resources Manager register may be selectively certified for consideration for appointment to positions based on professional supervisory experience or managerial experience or specialized professional experience in specific areas in the natural resources field. The specific areas in the natural resources field are general natural resources management, business management, cultural resource preservation, historic site administration, natural resource stewardship, outdoor recreation, parks administration, and resource education.
EXAMINATION COMPONENT: Rating of Education and Experience, 100%.
