| ANNUAL SALARY: | $27,660.00 - $38,700.00 |

DEFINITION: This is skilled work in the installation, maintenance and repair of plumbing and steam heating systems. An employee of this class performs skilled plumbing tasks in accordance with standard practices of the trade on both steam and water lines and equipment. Work may include the direction of assigned semi-skilled or unskilled helpers. Assignments are received in the form of oral or written work orders and may be accompanied by plans or sketches. Supervision is received from a superior who assigns work orders and inspects work in progress and completed for compliance with direction or with plans and specifications; however, the employee is expected to determine work methods and proceed with little technical supervision.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Completion of a formal four-year apprenticeship in the plumbing trade and completion of the eighth school grade.
OR
Five years of on-the-job training as a plumber and completion of the eighth school grade.
EXAMINATION COMPONENT: Rating of Education and Experience, 100%.
