TITLE: PROBATION AND PAROLE ASSISTANT I (5118) ANNUAL SALARY: $26,784.00 - $37,296.00
  PROBATION AND PAROLE ASSISTANT II (5119) ANNUAL SALARY: $28,596.00 - $40,212.00

LOCATION: Statewide-Applications are being accepted for the purpose of maintaining registers of eligibles who would be available for employment as vacancies occur with Merit System agencies. These classifications may be used by agencies in various locations throughout the State. When vacancies occur, the names of eligibles available for employment in the county where the vacancy is located will be certified in grade order for employment consideration.

PROBATION AND PAROLE ASSISTANT I DEFINITION: This is entry-level technical work with offenders under the supervision and control of the Division of Probation and Parole.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT BY ASSIGNMENT: Successful completion of an essential functions evaluation administered by the Missouri Department of Corrections will be required prior to employment.
Must be at least 21 years of age at the time of employment.
Successful completion of safety training including defensive tactics and the ability to re-qualify annually.
Successful completion of training administered by the Missouri State Highway Patrol in the Missouri Uniform Law Enforcement System (MULES) prior to regular appointment (based on assignment).

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS: Two or more years of work experience; and possession of a high school diploma or GED certificate, and a valid vehicle operator's license.

(Earned credit hours from an accredited college or university may substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required experience at a rate of 30 earned credit hour for one year.)

EXAMINATION COMPONENT: Rating of Education and Experience, 100%.


PROBATION AND PAROLE ASSISTANT II DEFINITION: This is mid-level technical work with offenders under the supervision and control of the Division of Probation and Parole.
