Project Description

The implementation of the statewide SAM II administrative system data warehouse created a new technical solution for agencies to do analysis and develop their own unique reports.  This new tool represented a significant change and learning curve for agency staff.  Initial training was provided, however, the agencies did not realize the entire impact until the system was implemented and in use for a few months.

The SAM II Reporting/Data Warehouse Team was initiated by the ITAB in November 1999 to analyze agency requests for reports and determine the best method to help agencies meet their needs.  They provided additional training and education on the data warehouse model, templates for reports already created utilizing various statewide standard tools, created and implemented three new statewide reports, enhanced the data warehouse front-end to provide more efficient and effective reporting, provided a web page for agencies to share report queries and provided and outstanding forum for agency sharing of information.

The work of this team has had a significant, positive statewide impact on all agencies as well as assisted ITAB members in meeting their customer requirements.  The team demonstrated an excellent customer service and professional attitude at all times.  I am pleased to nominate this team for their outstanding achievements.
