ROLE OF CYBER-TECHNOLOGY IN MISSOURI'S HOMELAND SECURITY PLANS

Over the past several years, businesses throughout the private sector, and state agencies representing the public sector, have dramatically increased their usage and dependence on the Internet and network-based systems.  E-business processes and assets provide critical functions in all aspects of Missouri’s citizens’ lives and business continuity for all segments of Missouri’s economy; including communication, transactions processing for payrolls, sales, pharmaceutical records, medical treatments, supply chain management, online procurement, emergency response, etc.

As these businesses and state agencies have increasingly relied upon cyber-technology assets to provide these critical functions, the importance of insuring the integrity and safety of these assets must not be underestimated.
