Rental Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to use my credit card when I rent a vehicle?
No, you will need your state I.D. card, driver's
license and there must be SAMII agency and organization codes provided.
It is all national direct billing. As long as the agency
and org codes are given as a PO, Enterprise can direct bill.
What if I don't know my agency and organization
codes?
Contact your agency travel coordinator or fiscal
officer to find out your SAM II agency and organization codes
that
are used for Enterprise direct billing.
What about rental insurance?
The State of Missouri is self-insured for collision damage and liability coverage for rental vehicles. This insurance through the State Legal Expense Fund extends to the state employee engaged in authorized state business, not personal business. For in state rentals, insurance is not included in the rental rate. For out of state rentals, liability insurance is included in the rental rate. Agencies are highly encouraged to use the procurement card to pay for rental expense as collision damage coverage (CDW) on rental vehicles is available at no cost to the state through UMB VISA.
What do I do if I am returning a car after hours?
There is a key drop box next to the front door. Lock the vehicle and place the keys in the drop box. Click this link for Enterprise drop box locations.
Do I have to go to the rental agency to pick up
my vehicle?
No, Enterprise can pick you up at your location and
bring you back to their office so you can sign the rental
contract.
(This service is available during normal operating hours.)
How do I reserve a vehicle?
You have three options.
- www.oa.mo.gov/gs/fm/onlinereservations.htm
- call 1-800-rent-a-car
- call the local office directly.
Make sure you have the customer numbers for the state
contract to
guarantee the contracted rates.
Can I leave my car at Enterprise locations?
Yes, there is ample parking for your vehicle.

How old are your vehicles? All Enterprise vehicles are typically no more than
a year old with less than 35,000 miles.
What if I am late returning the vehicle? There is a one hour grace period at all locations nationwide. Within Jefferson City there is a two hour grace period.
What do I do if I need to leave prior to 7:30 a.m. on a Monday? The Missouri Boulevard location in Jefferson City ONLY will open at 6:30 a.m. to accommodate your travel needs, if the reservation was made in advance. You may also pick up the vehicle the evening before your trip date to accommodate your needs.
What does In State Rental mean?
An In State Rental means that the rental must originate within the boundaries
of the State of Missouri, and travel may occur within the boundaries of Missouri,
Kansas and Illinois.
Is there a limit on the amount of miles I can travel while conducting State
of MO business?
There is unlimited miles for In State Daily and Weekly rentals. There is a
3,000 mile cap for In State Monthly rentals, and then $0.20 per mile thereafter.
For Out of State Rentals you will receive 200 miles per day included in the
rental rate, and then $0.20 per mile thereafter.
Do I fuel a rental vehicle before returning to Enterprise?
Enterprise has a matching Policy, return the vehicle with the same amount of
fuel that was in the vehicle at the beginning of the rental.
How do I initiate the Month-or-More rental program?
You must call the national reservation call center at 800-209-3602 to set up
the rental. Report miles monthly to Enterprise. A discount applies for multi-month
rentals.
Am I responsible for preventative maintenance when I utilize a Month-to-Month
rental?
No, call Enterprise to set up an appointment to have the oil changed, fluids
checked, etc. on a monthly basis or as needed per manufacturer's recommendations.
Can I use a rental vehicle
for personal or non-State business?
No, a rental vehicle according to the State Vehicle Policy is a state vehicle,
and the driver and any passengers must be conducting State of Missouri business.
