All rooms have Category 5, twisted pair cabling for an Ethernet connection. All the cabling has been tested, and is operational. Facilities Management provides scheduling services for these conference rooms. Any state agency can reserve a conference room in the Truman Building or the Governor Office Building. Please contact the OA Help Desk at 751-2201 to coordinate your connection to the Internet. All questions can be answered based on your individual agency needs, and will make the necessary arrangements to have your connection activated. You will need to plan on configuring your PC with the IP address information provided; a workstation address, subnet mask, router gateway address, and DNS address. This requires that you or a technical person in your group have administrative privileges to the PC. For security purposes, the IP addresses are only activated during testing and presentation times. ITSD requires that you reserve the conference room one week prior to your presentation so that you can test your equipment with the cabling. Each PC configuration is slightly different and to guarantee success, a week advance will allow enough time to alter workstation or router configurations. If your presentation will require a connection into the State Private Network, or if you intend to set up multiple workstations, additional time will be required to coordinate and test your connection. Each agency will be responsible for providing their own PCs with Ethernet cards, and any coupler, adapter, or cable that may be required. The PC will also need to have a TCP/IP stack and Internet browser installed prior to testing. There is no charge for using this direct connection. No wireless service is offered at this time.James C Kirkpatrick State Information CenterThe Secretary of State IT Services Division has provided a “Public” wireless Internet access point in the Interpretive Center located in the James C Kirkpatrick State Information Center. Anyone in the building can use the access point to access the Internet and should not need to do anything special, or need any sort of login credentials. If you need assistance, please the Secretary of State IT Customer Support Center (ITCS) at 573-751-4000. You will need to provide their name, agency or organization affiliation, and the date/time that you are scheduled for the facility. Additionally, ITCS can be reached by email at itcs@sos.mo.gov . Then, any needs that you may have will be handled by the Secretary of State Support Center.
