Blunt Honors Missouri’s State EmployeesJefferson City - Gov. Matt Blunt will recognize all state employees for their dedication to public service at the annual Missouri State Employee Recognition Day ceremony held on the steps and south lawn of the Missouri State Capitol Building from 11 am – 2 pm on Friday, May 5. This event is part of the week-long Missouri Public Service Recognition Week celebration. The theme for this year’s event is, “Show Me State Employees Show You Dedication.” At the event state employees will be recognized for their dedication, professionalism, commitment to excellence, innovation, and diligence. The event will also show appreciation and gratitude to the dynamic and innovative employees who touch the lives of Missouri citizens each day. At the event, state agencies will have displays highlighting the outstanding work and accomplishments of their employees. A special award ceremony will recognize:
“Missouri workers are second to none. The dedicated men and women who work to serve our state and provide the countless services offered to taxpayers deserve our applause and recognition,” Gov. Matt Blunt said. “They have met each opportunity with determination and worked diligently to make this great state a better place for us to call home.” This is the fifth year in which Missourians take an opportunity to voice appreciation to its public service employees for their dedication to service and commitment to excellence.
