State Releases April 2007 General Revenue ReportJefferson City - Commissioner of Administration Mike Keathley announced today that 2007 fiscal year-to-date net general revenue collections compared to 2006 fiscal year-to-date net collections increased by 5.6 percent, from $5.98 billion last year to $6.31 billion this year. The Commissioner also announced that April 2007 net general revenue collections compared to April 2006 collections increased by 9.6 percent, from $1.03 billion last April to $1.13 billion this April. Recent data demonstrate a marked slowdown in the national economy, resulting from the struggles of the residential construction sector. Despite this, overall employment in the state continues to expand at a moderate pace due to Missouri’s improved entrepreneurial climate. Consumers continue to spend, but recent data indicate rising energy prices are taking their toll.
