Missouri Citizens' Commission on Compensation for Elected Officials to Hold Public Hearing

Jefferson City - The Missouri Citizens' Commission on Compensation for Elected Officials will conduct three hearings around the state.

The group will hold two hearings on Nov. 27, 2006. The first hearing will take place in St. Louis at 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at the Social Services building, 9900 Page Avenue, St. Louis, Missouri 63132. The second hearing will take place in Cape Girardeau at 3 p.m. - 5 p.m. at the Vocational Rehabilitation Building, 3014 Blattner Drive, Cape Girardeau, Missouri 63701.

Citizens are invited to submit comments during the hearing in writing or in person. Those who wish to speak should be brief so everyone who wishes to provide comment has the opportunity within the two hour time frame. Citizens unable to attend may send written comments to the commission c/o Rich AuBuchon, 201 West Capitol Avenue, Room 125, Jefferson City, Missouri 65101.

Comments received during the hearings will be considered when the Commission prepares its schedule of compensation for elected officials. Pursuant to Article XIII Section 3 of the Missouri State Constitution, the Commission will publish the schedule of compensation by Dec. 1, 2006.

The Missouri Citizens' Commission on Compensation for Elected Officials will conduct a final meeting on Nov. 29, 2006 from 9:30 a.m. - 12 noon. The Commission will meet at the Missouri State Capitol Building, 201 W. Capitol Avenue, Senate Committee Room 1, Room 118, Jefferson City, Missouri 65101.
