Missouri Citizens’ Commission on Compensation for Elected Officials to Hold Meeting, Public Hearing

Jefferson City - The Missouri Citizens’ Commission on Compensation for Elected Officials will conduct a meeting on Monday, Nov. 20, 2006, from 10:30 a.m. until noon.   The Commission will meet in the Senate Lounge of the Missouri State Capitol, 201 West Capitol Avenue, 3rd floor, Jefferson City, Missouri.  Public comment will not be received during the 10:30 a.m. -12 noon meeting.   

            Following the meeting, the Missouri Citizens’ Commission on Compensation for Elected Officials will conduct a hearing for the purpose of receiving public comment regarding compensation for elected officials.  The hearing to receive public comment will take place in the Senate Lounge of the Missouri State Capitol on Nov. 20, 2006, beginning at 2 p.m. and lasting until 4p.m.  Citizens are invited to submit comments during the hearing in writing or in person.  Those who wish to speak should be brief so everyone who wishes to provide comment has the opportunity within the two hour time frame.

            Comments received during the hearing will be considered when the Commission prepares its schedule of compensation for elected officials.  Pursuant to Article XXIII Section 3 of the Missouri State Constitution, the Commission will publish the schedule of compensation by Dec.1, 2006.
