Intergovernmental Cooperation

Mission Statement

To develop a closer partnership between federal, state and local governments and to serve as a vehicle of communications through which state and local governments can meet to discuss and resolve shared existing and potential problems. To foster better intergovernmental relations between federal, state and local governments. To serve as a clearinghouse for information relevant to intergovernmental issues. To administer the regional planning commission program and the Federal Assistance Clearinghouse.

Background Information

The Intergovernmental Relations Section (IGR) is the focal point from which state agencies receive information and recommendations on intergovernmental issues. The Missouri Commission on Intergovernmental Cooperation (MCIC) works closely with the Governor's Federal Fiscal Impact Commission, follows the devolution of federal programs and studies the effect on state and local governments.
